China Evaluates Sodramjet Jet Engine Mach 16 Speeds to Reach ‘Anywhere on Earth in 2 Hours’

The new technology is so fast that it could make a round trip to Earth in two hours.

The new hypersonic jet engine has been developed by Chinese scientists and is named Sodramjet.

It’s capable of traveling 16 times the speed of sound. As a result, the aircraft fitted with this engine will fly anywhere in the world in two hours.

The maiden flight of its prototype was tested in a wind tunnel in Beijing.

It has demonstrated outstanding thrust, fuel consumption, and operating stability.

This type of hypersonic engine could be used in reusable trans-atmospheric aircraft, which would allow them to take off from the runway vertically.

It will also cause the aircraft to circle the planet in outer space, return to the Earth’s atmosphere, and land at the airport in an extremely short time.

According to the scientists, the engine could make the aircraft travel 16 times faster than the sound speed, But that’s yet to be tested, as it stands only as a claim so far.

Only one tunnel in the whole world could test a such high-capacity engine under construction in China.

The team is sure that their designed Sodramjet technology will allow commercial aircraft to fly at hypersonic speeds.

The Sodramjet is the second developed engine with such comprehensive hypersonic capability.

The first is the Scramjet produced by American scientists and engineers, but sadly it had some technological problems.

A hypersonic aerodynamics researcher told the South China Morning Post that this test might have already been carried out.

He furthermore added that China keeps its hypersonic program under the high cover due to its potential military uses.

Such technologies are getting us closer to flying at higher and much faster speeds than is known to humans.

This makes it possible for commercial aircraft to use some unconventional means of flying in the near future.
